Supporting our seniors and remembering loved ones who are no longer with us.
That’s what Patricia Region Senior Services strives to do every holiday season with the Dove Tree, but this year in a new location.
Colleen Hill with Patricia Region Senior Services explains they’ve partnered with the Dryden Public Library this year.
“The Dove Tree that has been part of the past Festival of Trees events will be located at the Library this year, for anyone wishing to donate a monetary amount in memory of a deceased loved one.”
Due to COVID-19 restrictions there are no Festival of Trees events at ‘The Centre’ this year.
Hill talks about the programs you’ll be supporting by purchasing a dove to hang on the tree.
“Our organization uses the fundraising and donations to support senior services in the Dryden area such as ‘Meals on Wheels’, ‘Life Enrichment’, transportation, visiting hospice and maintenance, just to name a few of the programs we deliver.”
Hill stresses these donations make an incredible difference for our local seniors.
“Transportation can be high for some, and certainly during COVID-19. Every day we’re reminded of just how important community support services are to people and in our case the seniors we serve.”
She also adds they very appreciative of the community for their continued support of the dove tree every year.
