The MPP for Kenora-Rainy River says his government got elected on a promise to build Ontario together.
That’s why Greg Rickford is touting recent infrastructure investments in northwestern Ontario, including the repaving of Van Horne Avenue in Dryden.
“This matters to the people of Dryden, so that matters to me. We were happy to partner with the City of Dryden to the tune of $1.4 million to make this beautiful street and the extension a safe place for people to walk and drive and get about town.”
Rickford stresses fixing aging infrastructure in the north is a priority for his government.
“We have harsher weather conditions and that tends to beat up infrastructure a little more quickly then it does in other parts of the province in some instances. So this was a particularly important project. It’s one in a series of projects that we’ve completed in Dryden, major projects.”
The Northern Development Minister adds “In the not to distance future I’m going to be happy to make a few more key announcements to make sure that the people of the City of Dryden know that I remain a strong voice with experience that delivers results and make this City a beautiful place to be.”
Rickford recently got together with local officials to mark the completion of Van Horne.
