The regular season opener for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs was truly a special one.
The Ice Dogs relied on special teams scoring three short-handed goals and one power-play goal en route to a 6-1 win over the Red Lake Miners in Cochenour Sunday night.
Nolan Marshall led the Dryden GM attack with two goals, while Evan Pakkala, Cameron Ware, Jackson Jacques and Derek Koivisto added singles.
Brady Harroun scored the lone Miners goal.
Brett Murphy stopped 19 shots for the win.
The rematch is tonight at 7:30 in Cochenour.
