The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting a spike of 33 new COVID-19 cases.
The majority are from the ongoing outbreak at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home, with 28 cases.
Of the remaining new patients, one caught the virus while travelling while the rest were infected through close contact with someone else with COVID-19.
This brings the district to 94 active cases.
The Kenora Catholic District School Board also announced a second positive case at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and is now declaring an outbreak within the grade eight group.
There’s been a slight drop in new cases across the province, as Ontario reports just over 1,700.
Nearly half of them are in Peel and Toronto.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says the spread of the virus has reached a “critical point,” and urges everyone to follow public health advice.
