A Wabigoon woman’s Christmas just got a little brighter, as Shannon Tuckey has won the top prize of the Lighting Lotto jackpot.
The winnings started at $125,000 but grew to a grand total of $420,408.60.
Shannon is a 41-year-old single mother of two and says she was in total disbelief when the lottery terminal froze.
“I thought the terminal broke until the store owner told me I won. I said ‘Oh my god, are you serious?'”
Tuckey adds she was supposed to purchase her aunt’s car but had to call her and tell her she now had other plans to purchase a brand new car.
Other than buying a car, Tuckey says she’ll be putting away her win for her kid’s education.
“This is absolutely life-changing. After the year 2020, this makes a huge difference!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Red River Co-op Gas Bar on Government Street in Dryden.
