The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says two students in Kenora have tested positive for COVID-19.
The public school board says it has received notification of a student that has tested positive for COVID-19 that attends Beaver Brae Secondary School, as well as a student that has tested positive that attends King George VI Public School.
The board says it’s working closely with the Northwestern Health Unit and at this time, their investigation is indicating that there was no exposure to students or staff in the high school.
As a result, there are no classroom closures required and students can continue to attend school.
All students and staff should use the Government of Ontario’s school screening tool daily before attending school. As a reminder for families, should your child(ren) develop any symptom(s) consistent with COVID-19, you should not send them to school and should contact the local assessment centre to make arrangements for testing.

Through public health’s ongoing investigation and further to the November 25 Advisory, the board has been notified by the Northwestern Health Unit that their investigation has now determined that there may have been classroom exposure around the confirmed case at King George VI Public School.
As a result, one of the classrooms at the school has been closed to further minimize any risk.
