An Interim Superintendent of Education has been named by the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
Chantel Moore will replace Joan Kantola who has accepted a position School Mental Health Ontario for the remainder of the school year.
Moore started her teaching career at Crolancia Public School in Pickle Lake in 1994 and has 19 years of Kindergarten to Grade 12 administration experience, working at Wabigoon, Ignace and Upsala schools.
Board officials say she has extensive knowledge in a number of areas including leadership, guidance, special education and e-learning.
They add Moore is passionate about focusing on high level instruction, maintaining high expectations and creating caring, support and inclusive learning environments.
Moore is also described as being dedicated to ensuring that all students can reach their full potential by focusing on their strengths, hearing their voice and providing opportunities.
