Edward Oberg was the son of Jonas Oscar and Hilma Oberg, of Oxdrift. Born 17 September 1925
He had worked at the Dryden Paper Company for 10 months when he enlisted at Winnipeg 09 February 1944 at age 18.
He served in the “Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders” and was sent to Europe as a replacement.
Edward was just 19 when he was killed in action 30 March 1945 in Holland.
He is buried in the GROESBEEK CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY in the
Netherlands.
