Redvers Adair was a Son of Hugh J. and Rose I. Adair, of Dryden.
He is remembered as a very likeable and easy going young man. He came from a large family of 10 children. Many young men like Redvers, raised in the Depression, enlisted because they were guaranteed a warm pair of winter boots and a warm winter coat.
Redvers served in the Royal Canadian Artillery 17 Field Regt.
Redvers was killed 31 August 1944 when he stepped on a land mine in Italy.
He rests at the Montecchio War Cemetery in Italy. He was only 24.
All information and images were provided to Spuro Sourtzis by niece Lynne McMillan of Dryden.
