The Ford government has introduced a new coding system for identifying the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario.
The colour scale shows green as the lowest risk while grey is considered lockdown stage.
The Northwest Health Unit is currently in code green with a focus on education and awareness.
Premier Doug Ford says the framework was developed with the help of medical experts and adds it will be applied separately in individual regions of the province.
“This planning framework provides structure. It will help inform decisions on regional province-wide health measures based on the data we’re seeing.”
Here is the breakdown of the new system:
Green=Prevent (lowest level or restrictions)
Yellow=Protect (strengthened restrictions.)
Orange=restrict (more)
Red=Control(modified stage 2)
Grey=Lockdown
