In loving memory of Roger Melanson of Ear Falls, Ontario who passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Northwood Lodge, Red Lake Ontario on Friday September 25, 2020, at the age of 88 years. Roger was born in Moncton New Brunswick on November 24, 1931 to Ernest and Genereuse Melanson. Roger was united in marriage to Aurelda Richard on September 10th, 1955 whereupon they moved to Ear Falls to start their new life. Roger was a devout Catholic and a lifetime member of Knight of Columbus. Roger’s greatest passion was the love he held for his wife “sweet little thing from heaven on earth”, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Roger could light up a room with his smile. Roger made this world a better place for all that knew him.
Roger’s career consisted of Forestry, Mining and CNRail. Roger was an avid sports enthusiast with hockey being his passion. Later in life he took up golfing achieving a very proud moment with “a hole in one” at the age of 72.
Roger is survived by his loving children, Paul (Susan), Paulette (Bruce), Ronald (Paula). Papa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Roger is predeceased by his loving wife Aurelda and is survived by brothers’ Stan, Jerry and sister Madeleine; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister (Sr) Rita, brothers Laurie and Phil.
A private memorial service to be held.
