Dryden GM is back as the title sponsor of the Ice Dogs Junior Hockey team.
The dealership has retained naming rights for the organization for a fifth consecutive year.
Owner Nick Beyak says he’s proud to support the organization.
“Obviously a different year. A lot of uncertainty out there but I have absolute faith in Mike Sveinson and the leadership of the team and I know they will do everything they can to make it a successful season and we’ll just see what happens.”
Beyak adds “I think with everything going on. The more normalcy and even tradition that we can maintain in our lives, the better, because we all have pretty amazing lives and did before this and it’s concerning to me. I don’t want any of us to lose sight of that and I think the Ice Dogs are a big part of that for the community. I want to see them back as it was as most people do and I believe it will come.”
Team President Mike Sveinson is grateful for the support of Dryden GM and Nick Beyak.
“It’s just a testament to his devotion to our community that he’s re-upped the commitment again this year during our most trying season. So part of my initiative with the team this year and part of the sense of purpose I feel with the team is to bring us a little bit further back to some normalcy and having the Ice Dogs play this season and have us resume the closest to the normal that we can. Nick being a part of that shows his commitment to that as well.”
Sveinson says the GM sponsorship is an important first step in their fundraising campaign.
“Now we’re moving forward asking for the regular sponsorship and board sign commitments and commitment to our fundraising initiatives that we always have. Whatever our season looks like this year, we still need the funds to operate it and to get through the season and to mitigate the losses we suffered at the end of last year having to cut it short prior to the playoffs.”
The SIJHL season is scheduled to start in mid-November.
