Fall has arrived and that’s creating some excitement among organizers of Dryden’s first Fall Fest.
Laina Smith says the free event will include a number of contests.
Smith says there will be a Pumpkin Growing and Pumpkin Carving contest on October 17 during “Harvest Hay Day’.
She notes there will also be a Children’s Scavenger Hunt that same day.
“Which is part of the ‘Treats and Trees Walk’, also at the ‘Harvest Hay Day’, where children will be tasked with a nature based scavenger hunt at the start of their walk through Laura Howe Marsh while collecting treats and then they can submit their completed list as they exit the walk.”
Prizes will be handed out.
Smith is also encouraging people to get in the fall spirit and sign-up for their Halloween House Decorating contest.
Residents are asked to decorate their homes and property and email their whereabouts to organizers.
Smith says the final list will provide the public with the addresses so they can plan a community walk.
Dryden Fall Fest activities include:
October 17th – Harvest Hay Day
October 24th – Laura Howe Haunt
October 31st – Trunk-or-Treat
Volunteers are still needed for all three days.
