Canadian Tire has announced an $8-million relief fund to help sport and recreation organizations recover from COVID-19 shutdowns.
Grants are being handed out to help organizations deliver programming this year and beyond.
The new relief fund will provide support based on need in the form of grants which will go towards covering programming and operational needs to eligible organizations who demonstrate the greatest need.
According to a nationwide survey of 1,300 sport organizations, 73% of community clubs are temporarily closed and more than 50% won’t resume operations next year.
The Jumpstart Charity has helped deliver sports programming to youth for 15-years.
Applications for the fund are being accepted until October 4th.
