Despite continued warnings, some feel it’s okay to stop following the public health measures that are put in place.
A poll by Leger and the Association For Canadian Studies finds 57% of Canadians have relaxed doing one of more of the measures like physical distancing or regular hand washing.
At the same time, 65% think another lock down is imminent while 80% believe a second wave of COVID-19 is coming. 34% believe it’s already sweeping through their province.
And, some people feel governments and public health officials are over exaggerating the threat of COVID-19.
The poll found 23% of Canadians and 43% of Americans believe the threat and the need for public health measures like mask wearing are over blown.
At the same time, 36 percent of Canadians and 37 percent of Americans says they’re not afraid of contracting the virus.
