A popular fall tradition returns to Dryden this weekend.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is Saturday at the Public Works Yard from 8:30am until 4:00pm.
Rotary member Roger Gould was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Tuesday and says the free initiative was well received last year.
“We had close to 400 vehicles show up and as far as the amount of product that we had brought in to get rid of, some amazing numbers that we had. There was almost 6,000 kilograms of paint and supplies.”
Gould notes they collect all batteries and turn them in for cash.
He says the funds they receive from the sale of the batteries go immediately back to community projects supported by Rotary.
The program is aimed at ensuring your home and environment remains safe as well as keeping dangerous goods out of the landfill site.
Gould notes Rotary volunteers will be working with Miller Environmental to collect all material without you having to leave your vehicle.
