MPP’s return to Queen’s Park Monday for the fall sitting.
Premier Doug Ford admits recovering from the current pandemic will dominate discussions.
“We hope dealing with the opposition will be collaborative. We’ve been collaborative. I don’t care what colour your party is from. Green, orange, red or blue. We need to work together and that’s what our goal is. To work together, collaborative, with all parties.”
Ford says cooperation has been a big reason why Ontario has been able to get through COVID-19.
Ford adds he hopes the session isn’t bogged down with political games.
“I just hope they just hope they don’t play politics. I don’t have time for politics. I want to help the people and we’re going to have a good, heavy agenda moving forward.”
He stresses people expect the government to work together.
Ontario house leader Paul Calandra says the legislature will continue to respect public health rules while returning to its regular four-day-a-week schedule for proceedings.
He says the government will be focused in the coming weeks on the impacts of COVID-19 on the economy, school reopenings, and the health-care system.
The 2020-2021 budget is expected on November 15.
