The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is holding the line on trail permits for 2021.
The price will be $190 for a Seasonal pass and $150 for a Classic pass if you purchase a permit in the month of September.
Permits are mandatory for recreational snowmobiling on all OFSC trails.
The organization is also providing a one-time “confidence bonus” this year for snowmobilers who sign up early for the Rider Advantage program.
Chief Executive Officer Landon French says the bonus protects you if trails are forced to close due to COVID-19 health guidelines.
French notes the offer is redeemable towards the purchase of a 2022 Seasonal or Classic Trail Permit and riders may qualify for a $50 or $25 bonus.
For the bonus to apply, any closure would have to occur before February 16, 2021 and continue for the remainder of the season.
French says the OFSC has also introduced a new app.
“This app provides snowmobilers with basic trail information and updates on the season on their mobile device. An upgrade to the Pro version of the ‘Go Snowmobiling Ontario app’ with many new features and capabilities will be available for just $3.99.”
The OFSC will be announcing plans and protocols to ensure the health and safety of volunteers, landowners and riders in the coming weeks.
Trails were closed in March due to provincial coronavirus health protocols.
