COVID-19 isn’t the only thing keeping senior administration busy at the Northwestern Health Unit.
Staff are also planning for the upcoming flu season.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon says they will be offering the influenza vaccine and preparations are now being made at the provincial level.
She says they are expecting to ramp up distributing the vaccine and setting up flu shot clinics in late October.
Dr. Kit Young Hoon is anticipating a higher uptake of the influenza vaccine this year because that’s been seen in other countries.
She is encouraging people to look out for information and get vaccinated when the clinics become available.
