Local school board’s are getting $1.6 million to help cope with the extra costs of COVID-19.
Director of Education for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, Sherri-Lynne Pharand says they have received $479,110.
“This funding is very helpful. We do still need to use reserve funding however for additional staffing to make sure that we can provide both the virtual option as well as the bricks and mortar option for parents and families.”
Pharand says the money will help them keep their schools safe.
“We’re pleased to be able to have a whole host of safety practices and procedures in place because that’s what will keep all of us safe together.”
