Dryden Firefighters will be making sure homes have working Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms throughout the month of September.
Dryden Fire Service is going door to door Wednesday September 2nd (tonight) and Wednesday September 30 from 7p.m.-9p.m.
The ultimate goal is to make sure every home in the city follows the Ontario Fire Code requirements.
The fire department stresses their focus is on compliance, not enforcement.
Home owners will not be charged for non-compliance and will be provided fire alarms and batteries for free, as part of the program (while supplies lasts).
Members will be out and about in specific areas of the city but if you want to make sure your home gets checked, you are more than welcome to contact the fire department.
You can reach the Dryden Service at 223-1177, email drydenfire@dryden.ca or message them on their Facebook page here.
