Kathryn was born and raised in Superior, Wisconsin. When she was 17 years old she met Tony and fell in love. Soon after they married in 1973 and moved to Wabauskang, ON where Tony was from. There they had 2 boys, Tommy and John Jay. Tony found work out in Alberta and Kathryn and the boys joined him out west. While in Alberta, they met and became good friends with Rick. Kathryn and her family decided it was time to move back to Northwestern Ontario and landed in Sioux Lookout when only a few years later, Tony passed unexpectedly. Rick learned of Tony’s passing and convinced Kathryn and her boys to move to BC for the health of John Jay who was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Later, Rick and Kathryn were married. After John Jay passed from his illness, the family moved back to Wabauskang. Kathryn was a school bus driver and was able to get a job in Wabauskang. Rick passed away in the late 90’s and followed by Tommy who passed in 2004. Soon after an opportunity arose to move to Thunder Bay to drive school bus which she continued to do until her early retirement, after 20 plus years, in 2019 due to illness.
Kathryn loved to travel as she had lived all over. She found that same adventure seeking in Gabriel whom she met after she moved into her apartment building. Kathryn and Gabriel enjoyed bicycling and motorcycle rides. They tried just about everything together. Kathryn also loved to sew and do bead work and took pride in her patio fairy garden. Kathryn suffered a lot of heartache in her life but still found joy in every day. Gabriel gave her a reason to smile and carry on.
Kathryn was loved and adored by many and will be sadly missed.
