There are only three municipalities in northwestern Ontario eligible for provincial Connecting Link funding in 2021-2022.
They are the City of Dryden, Fort Frances and Rainy River.
The Ford government is providing $30 million to build, repair or replace local roads and bridges
The program will provide funding to 77 potential municipalities of up to 90% of project costs, up to a maximum of five million dollars.
That’s up from three million dollars.
Eligible costs include the design, construction, renewal, rehabilitation and replacement of municipal roads and bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community or to a border crossing.
The deadline to submit an application is November 6.
