Convention centres and event spaces can now host up to 50 people per room.
As of Friday, the province began letting meeting spaces hold larger gatherings as long as they follow a plan approved by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
“Allowing for multiple meetings or events will allow convention centres, hotels and other professional meeting facilities to welcome back more visitors and employees,” says Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries.
Gatherings in outdoor meeting and event facilities are still limited to 100 people for the entire area. In all spaces, staff aren’t counted towards the limit.
At restaurants, the province now only requires one person per group to give their contact information for contact-tracing purposes.
