A brand new event to celebrate the fall season is coming to Dryden.
Every Saturday after Thanksgiving, families, kids and community members are invited to take part in the first ever Dryden Fall Fest.
Committee Chair of the festival, Laina Smith says she wants to bring fall fun to Dryden.
“Where I came from-which is Minnesota, fall time is packed with events for all ages. When I came up here I found myself missing those events-a lot so I decided I would bring those type of events to our community here.”
The festival will be made up of multiple events, both online and in person.
Everything is completely free to participate in and all in person events will take place at Laura Howe Marsh.
Events kick off on October 17 including: a haunted walk, a pumpkin carving contest, a day time market, a fall decor competition, and much, much more.
One of the big events is ‘Trunk or Treat’ on Halloween.
The event will be in the marsh parking lot and Smith says this event is great for all ages and abilities.
“Cars gather with decorated trunks and they pass out candy in a safe and controlled environment. It’s easy on the kids and on the parents.”
The Dryden Fall Fest committee is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and taking precautions so that everyone can enjoy the events.
The committee will be monitoring the occupancy of each event area, have sanitizing stations and barricades.
Face masks or coverings and physically distancing will be strongly encouraged.
