Local tourist outfitters relying on American traffic have lost their summer season.
The federal government has announced the Canada/U.S. border closure has been extended until September 21 at the earliest.
It was set to expire on August 21.

The ban on non-essential travel hasn’t been lifted since it was implemented in March and the extension comes at a time when the United States continues to struggle with spiking COVID-19 cases.
