The North Western Health Unit is urging Red Lake fire evacuees keep COVID-19 top of mind.
Evacuees are strongly encouraged to physical distance and wear a mask when that’s not possible, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Health Unit also says to keep up hand washing and hygiene throughout the duration of the evacuation.
Evacuees should limit their contact with those who are outside their family or social circle, including at meal-times and during transportation.
Evacuees should actively self-monitor and contact an assessment centre if you develop symptoms of COVID-19.
