The Northwestern Health Unit is providing local businesses with online resources to help them put a policy in place for mandatory masks.
Starting August 17, all businesses must have a mandatory mask or face covering policy in place.
Some of the materials being provided by the health unit includes signs for doors, a letter with background on the decision for mandatory masks and instructions businesses to implement their policy.
Businesses will also be able to access a sample policy the health unit has created, in order to establish their own.
The NWHU’s website also has a Frequently Asked Questions section for both the public and businesses to help better understand expectations of the policy.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr Kit Young-Hoon says they’re encouraging everyone to get familiar with the new requirement.
Young-Hoon also says the mandatory mask web page will be updated with new resources information as it becomes available.
Businesses can access and download the resources on the health unit’s website.
