2020 marks the 30th year since the first Ontario Breast Screening Program mammogram was completed.
Screen For Life Coach Coordinator Katherine Mayer says ever since then statistics in survival rates have improved.
Mayer says the improved survival rate is thanks to improved treatments as well as increased participation in screening.
Mayer also says the survival rate for breast cancer 30 years ago was around 50 percent, but has increased by a lot since.
Mammography services are offered on the Screen For Life Coach, and also available in Sioux Lookout, Fort Frances, Kenora and Thunder Bay.
