Margaret Isabelle Harrison
In loving memory of Margaret Isabelle Harrison who passed away peacefully at Princess Court, Dryden Ontario on July 29, 2020 at the age of 86 years.
Margie was born on April 26, 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and her family relocated to Kenora, Ontario where she received her education. Margie graduated from the School of Nursing at the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1956 and first practiced Nursing in Toronto and Texas. Margie was very fond of volunteer work, especially with the Dryden Hospital Ladies Auxiliary who took pictures of all the new babies.
Margie was predeceased by her brother, Robert; parents John and Isabella Macdonald and husbands Robert Gibson and Frank Harrison.
Margie is survived by her stepsons Michael and wife Kacey of Barrie, Ontario; and Jack and wife Jeannine of Dryden, Ontario; granddaughters Amanda (Gerry), Celeste (Mike), Jacqueline (Mike) and Li Anne and great grandchildren Sophie, Emma, Finn and Ben.
Margie’s passion was gardening and her pets Georgie and later adopting Patches. She turned her and Frank’s home on Lakeside Drive into a beautiful showcase of flower gardens, winning an award with the Dryden Community Blooms program. She will be remembered by family for her dedication and care to Frank during his long illness with Rheumatoid Arthritis and her ongoing love towards her stepsons and their families.
A special thank you to Dr. Goulet, Angela Eddison and the staff at Princess Court who cared for Margie during her lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s disease. Margie was known as having some of the best “one-liners” that made everyone laugh!
Following Margie’s wishes there will be no public Funeral service.
Interment of ashes will be held at a later date with a private family service.
