Environment Canada has issued Heat Warnings for most of us for the weekend.
Starting today (Friday), forecasters are calling for daytime highs at or near 30 but feeling like 34 or 35 in a wide swath from Winnipeg right through to Ignace as well as from the US Border north into Red Lake and Sioux Lookout. There will be little relief when we go to bed, with overnight temperatures above 20.
Thunderstorms are a 50/50 risk later this evening and through much of the weekend as well.
Temperatures should start to drop into the high 20’s starting Monday.
Remember to stay hydrated, keep yourself and kids cool to avoid heat stroke and avoid over exerting or strenuous exercise. Never leave a child or the family pet in a parked vehicle.
