A warning to local residents of a telephone scam that’s hit the City.
The Dryden Police Service has received numerous reports of people receiving calls from local telephone numbers (938-4838, 938-4069 and 938-5167) from individuals posing as an Officer from the DPS.
The scammers claim they are conducting an investigation where their Social Insurance Number has been compromised and they are looking for specific information to assist the victim as there could be a warrant out for their arrest.
You are reminded to never give out personal or financial information over the phone, email or text, especially your SIN number, credit card number, passport number or any banking information
