Provincial Police are reporting a sudden death in Kenora.
Officers were notified Sunday morning of a person unresponsive and not breathing in the 200 block of First Street South.
Police assisted Emergency Medical Services but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of death hasn’t been released but OPP are again warning people about the harmful effects of a drug called “yellow down” or “purple down” that is believed to contain fentanyl.
A post mortem is planned this week in Toronto.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
Recognize the signs and symptoms of an overdose, including:
• Difficulty
• walking
• talking
• staying awake
• blue lips or nails
• very small pupils
• cold and clammy skin
• dizziness and confusion
• extreme drowsiness
• choking, gurgling or snoring sounds
• slow, weak or no breathing
• Inability to wake up, even when shaken or shouted at
