Provincial Police in Red Lake are reporting more impaired driving charges in the community.
Police say on Saturday at 8:48pm they saw a possible stolen vehicle on Hammell Road and when officers tried to make a traffic stop the driver drove away quickly.
Police then say the vehicle was located and during the investigation it was determined that the driver had been drinking alcoholic drinks.
OPP say they demanded a breath sample which the driver subsequently failed, and the driver was arrested and tested further at the detachment.
Police say 46 year old Richard Myers of Newfoundland faces multiple charges including Operation While Impaired by alcohol, Operation While Impaired 80 plus, Flight from a peace officer, Failure to comply with an Undertaking and two counts of Operation while prohibited.
OPP say he remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
