The Mayor of Sioux Lookout believes progress is being made to establish a united regional voice.
Local leaders have been vocal in the past that community partnerships are needed in order to get government help that northwestern Ontario needs.
Doug Lawrance says he’s now seeing more and more cooperation.
He stresses the region has to build relationships and work together as one.
“There’s been a lot of relationship building over the years and I think we are beginning to see the fruits of that in awareness and a willingness to work together.”
Lawrance says the northwest is making strides in “inter-agency cooperation, inter-community cooperation and inter-jurisdiction cooperation and collaboration.”
