Ontario’s Education Minister is reconfirming individual school boards will determine how they will operate starting this fall.
Stephen Lecce says boards are being asked to review three scenarios and present their plan to the province.
Lecce says boards will decide on in-classroom learning, virtual learning or a blended approach.
The hybrid approach would cap the number of students in one classroom at 15.
Lecce stresses the government would love to see a return to conventional learning stressing the kids deserve some form of normalcy.
“We are going to be ready for each and every scenario. Based on the incredible progress of the people of this province. Based on your adherence to public health and really what has been inspiring, Herculean unity of the people of this province, we are now at a point much different than we were three or four weeks ago.”
Lecce notes the government now has an obligation to build a health protocol that gives confidence to everyone.
