The MP for Thunder Bay-Rainy River sees no issue with us traveling around northwestern Ontario.
Marcus Powlowski advocates we get out and explore our own region, as long as we do it safely.
“Like wearing a mask wherever possible, washing your hands frequently, minimizing your contact with other people, and [if] those resorts in the tourism industry do the same thing, then I think the risks are pretty low,” Powlowski says.
Powlowski, who is also a doctor, admits travel carries some risk of spreading or contracting COVID-19 but believes that the risk right now quite low in our region.
He feels our travelling can help area lodges and camps who’ve lost their major customer base because of the closed border.
