The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has received some help in its fight against wildfires in northwestern Ontario.
The Manitoba team includes 4 CL-215 waterbombers and 2 birddog aircraft.
Information Officer Jonathan Scott says there still is a strong threat of new fires despite some rain.
“Right now the forest fire is predominately high across the northwest region. There is an area of low to moderate hazard in the eastern portions of Fort Frances, Dryden and in Thunder Bay district.
Scott adds 21 personnel from our area remain in Quebec to help fight fires in that province.
