Synergy North is raising money for the Alzheimer Society.
The utility will donate $5 for every customer who signs up to get their bills electronically.
Synergy North is aiming to raise $10,000 by September.
The money will go to the Alzheimer Society offices in Kenora and Thunder Bay, which help 3,900 people in the Northwest region.
“Most of us are directly or indirectly connected to someone with dementia, which means there is a dire need for support,” says Ted Davis, Board President of the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay. “50% of our funding comes from fundraisers, and we are truly lucky to have the support of Synergy North and our community at large. Such a simple act of going paperless can bring support to local families in need.”
Synergy North says this is the start of a year-long campaign supporting non-profit organizations in the region.
