An employee of the Thunder Bay District Jail is facing criminal charges.
Police say the 38-year-old man was arrested following an ongoing investigation involving breach of trust.
He has been charged with possessing cocaine, ecstasy, tobacco and cannabis for the purposes of trafficking.
He is also facing a charge of breach of trust.
The name of the individual will not be released until after he appears in court.
