Cochenour’s Linda Lundstrom says learning from Indigenous perspectives and growing up in the Red Lake area helped inspire her work.
The now famous Fashion Designer recently made a presentation on Leadership during a York University Webinar.
Lundstrom says embracing Indigenous culture, tradition, stories and teachings was very important for the evolution of her work.
“Motivated by the richness that the people that I was listening to, that were guiding me on this journey, the richness that it brought to my life. It just became a calling.”
Lundstrom reflected on reaching out to the Canadian Native Art Foundation in order to find talented Indigenous artists and paying those individuals for their designs.
She says she was connected to every Band office in Canada and she invited artists to submit work for her designs and products.
