Low enrollment and COVID-19 have caused Confederation College to alter some of its programming.
Vice President Academic Neil Cooke explains they’ve spoken to students in the impacted programs and for the most part they have been understanding.
“So we are getting some disappointment back from the students, but they are understanding the situation we are in right now,” Cooke said.
“It is disappointing for us as well; however, with their academic success in mind, the decision was necessary to ensure our students continue to receive the exceptional quality of education for which we are known,” Cooke explained.
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering Technician and the Embedded Systems program will be put off until January 2021.
Digital Media Production and Tourism, Travel and Eco-Adventure are being suspended for this September’s intake.
In the case of the media and tourism related programs, Cooke said both of those programs will be reviewed this fall to see if they will be viable for a future school year.
