The Rainy River First Nation confirms it has its first case of COVID-19.
The community reported the case in a Facebook post.
Fort Frances Tribal Area Health Services says its been in communication with the individual and has started contact tracing.
The health agency confirms nurses have already been communicating with all community members that may have had close contact.
Close contacts include anyone who had close physical contact, within 2 metres, for more than 15 minutes.
The positive case isn’t included in the Northwestern Health Unit’s daily numbers because the first nation reports through Indigenous Services Canada.
