A Northwestern Health Unit COVID-19 survey has resulted in over 800 responses in 11 days from the public.
Officials were trying to collect information on the steps people in our region have taken to protect themselves, what their concerns are, and where they get their information from.
98% of respondents went to the grocery store or drug store one to three times a week or less.
93% have avoided crowds and large gatherings, while 85% have avoided leaving the house for non-essential reasons.
The survey also found 94% of local residents are at least somewhat concerned about their family’s health.
88% think the measures that have been in place are necessary to slow the spread of the coronavirus, while 63% expected the measures to stay in place for at least two more months.
47% of respondents think COVID-19 will have at least a minor impact on their finances or other essential needs.
