The Dryden GM Ice Dogs have strengthened their blueline.
The team has signed 19-year-old Austin Gaspar.
Coach and GM Kurt Walsten says Gaspar is the complete player.
Walsten says he’s tough, a strong skater, has a great hockey IQ and also has an offensive ability to his game.
Gasper is a 6’1, 216 pound defenceman who played most of last season in Tier 2 with the Alexandria Glens of the Central Canada Hockey League.
The product of St. Eugene, Ontario had 3-goals, 9-assists, 12-points and 105-penalty minutes in 23-games.
Gasper says “I’m very excited to join the ‘Dog Pound’ this coming season. I’ve heard lot’s of great things about the City of Dryden and their passionate hockey fans. I’ve come to appreciate their huge commitment and strides to win a championship and also for them giving back to the community as much as they do.”
