More essential workers will be tested for COVID-19 as the province increases testing.
Ontario unveiled more of its plan to test for the virus today, which will focus on first responders, jails, and homeless shelters.
Next week it will expand to groups like retirement home staff, and community-based testing for areas with high numbers of cases.
Provincial officials say they are looking for where cases are cropping up, and keeping an eye out for outbreaks.
Ontario is still not meeting its goal of 20,000 tests per day, but numbers have been on the rise in the past few days, reaching 17,600 on May 27.
