A local leader in physical education says the COVID-19 pandemic shouldn’t stop you from being active.
Red Lake’s Tom Doherty says this is a good time to challenge yourself in order to advance to the next level.
“You can go and you can do a lot of the individual skills training that’s needed for the individual sports. You can take that time to hone in on what you need to improve for those next steps that your coaches have been telling you.”
Doherty adds “Whether its just going outside with a Volleyball and doing some of the drills that you would do in the gym. Or taking a stick out and a ball and shooting on a net. Or just going and getting in shape and getting that core built.”
Doherty suggests challenging a friend or a teammate with a daily task.
