The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has officially announced the Restricted Fire Zone that will take effect in our region.
The restrictions will be put in place at midnight tonight.
According to a provided map, multiple area communities will be under the RFZ including Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Sioux Lookout, Hudson and Ignace.
It also extends east past Thunder Bay and Nipigon.
That means outdoor fires in these areas will be banned at midnight tonight and the RFZ will remain in effect until rescinded by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry
