A virtual “fund-razor” is being held across northwestern Ontario, Manitoba and Minnesota to help support kids suffering from cancer.
Shirley Koroniak is a local Director of the Canadian Lions Childhood Cancer Foundation and says volunteers from Waldhof, Atikokan, Winnipeg, Portage La Prairie and Minnesota have been lined up to shave their heads on video.
The video will be available May 30th on Facebook and YouTube.
Koroniak says all money raised from “Shave for the Brave” supports children and their families for those kids who are going through the dreaded disease.
“Childhood cancer is very underfunded. It accounts for only 5% of all cancer research funding in Canada today which is really sad.”
Koroniak notes their ultimate goal is becoming a national foundation to support research as well.
A GoFund Me page has been established and anyone who donates will receive a charitable receipt.
