How hard is it to follow directions? Are we just lazy?
Don’t care? Well you should.
Businesses in Sunset Country, who were able to stay open, have taken countless COVID-19 measures over the last few months to ensure the safety of employees and customers. Customers like you.
Be grateful for the business actions – many of them mandated by the Province – that they have taken for your well being. It’s time consuming for business owners to do the extras but they’re doing it for us and their employees.
But be more than grateful. Follow the directions!
So what’s a few minutes more waiting outside to get into the store? A chance to finalize your list and look it over. Oh and look there’s someone (6 feet away from you) that you haven’t chatted with in 2 and a half months…..and they only live 2 doors down the street from you.
Now you’re allowed to go in. It’s time to do your essential shopping. Wait a second. The first store employee you see reminds you about the hand sanitizer. That takes just takes a moment.
All good. Here we go. Shopping underway!!
Now everything is ‘normal’.
Uhhh no it’s not. Are you paying attention? Watching for those directional arrows on floors and marked on ailes that guide you on which way you should be going to ensure physical distancing – which ultimately means your safety and the safety of others? Yes traffic’ flow in that direction only.
You’ve got this because it’s easy. It’s just like driving. When you see that ‘Do Not Enter’ sign or ‘One Way Only’ notification when driving you pay attention to those cautions because if you didn’t….well….you know. So why not as a customer in a store?? We’ve had a few months now to get used to the changes and yet what did I continue to see last night while grocery shopping? You guessed it. “Hey buddy. You’re going the wrong way!” The reply – “It’s ok. I’m only going halfway down the aisle.” Say what? Imagine if that person was in a vehicle going the wrong way on a one way street…..”It’s ok. I’m only going halfway….”
STOP! Pay attention. Take a look at the signs. It only takes a moment. Be safe. The signs are there for you and those around you.
And now can someone please tell me why my wife has put directional arrows on the floor leading from my lazyboy to the kitchen sink?
